Dr. Kelli Weaver is a board-certified small animal internal medicine specialist and founder of Gulfstream Veterinary Specialty Services, a mobile specialty service serving veterinary hospitals throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Dr. Weaver comes to Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre on scheduled dates to perform advanced internal medicine diagnostics and specialty procedures. These services include abdominal and other diagnostic ultrasound examinations, echocardiography, endoscopy, image-guided sampling and biopsies, feeding-tube placement, joint taps, bone marrow sampling, and other advanced procedures when medically appropriate.
Dr. Weaver does not maintain regular office hours at Cross Creek and does not provide stand-alone internal medicine consultation appointments.
Before Dr. Weaver’s services can be scheduled, the pet must first be examined by a Cross Creek veterinarian and established as a patient of our hospital. Our veterinarian will review the patient’s medical history, evaluate the pet, and determine whether Dr. Weaver’s specialty diagnostic services are appropriate.
This requirement applies even when a patient is being referred to Cross Creek only for advanced testing and will return to their regular veterinarian or another hospital for continued treatment afterward.
Following Dr. Weaver’s procedure, her diagnostic findings and specialist recommendations are generally communicated to the Cross Creek veterinarian, who then discusses the results and recommended next steps with the owner.
Owners who specifically wish to consult directly with Dr. Weaver, or who wish to be present during an ultrasound or echocardiogram when appropriate, may request this as an additional service. An additional consultation fee applies.

- Your Cross Creek veterinarian shares the findings with you and coordinates treatment, additional diagnostics, or referral as appropriate.
- If your pet normally sees another veterinarian, your pet can return to them after testing, and we can provide the diagnostic information for continued care.
Your Cross Creek veterinarian stays your main point of contact from start to finish, so you get board-certified internal medicine expertise without losing the relationship with the doctor who knows your pet. If you would like to speak with Dr. Weaver directly, or be present for an ultrasound or echocardiogram, ask us about a direct consultation. This is an additional service with an additional consultation fee.

Can I schedule an internal medicine consultation directly with Dr. Weaver?
No. Dr. Weaver is a mobile board-certified internal medicine specialist who comes to Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre to perform scheduled advanced diagnostic procedures and specialty services. She does not provide traditional stand-alone internal medicine consultation appointments at Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre.

Does my pet need to be a Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre patient before seeing Dr. Weaver?
Yes. Every patient must first be examined by a Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre veterinarian and established as a patient of our hospital before Dr. Weaver’s services can be scheduled.
This also applies to pets whose regular veterinarian is located elsewhere and who are coming to Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre only for advanced testing.
What procedures does Dr. Weaver perform at Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre?
Dr. Weaver provides a variety of advanced mobile internal medicine diagnostic services. These include abdominal ultrasound, ultrasound of other areas of the body, echocardiography, endoscopy, image-guided sampling or biopsies, feeding-tube placement, joint taps, bone marrow sampling, and other specialty procedures when medically appropriate.
The Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre veterinarian will determine which diagnostic service is appropriate for the individual patient.
Will I meet or speak directly with Dr. Weaver?
Not routinely. Dr. Weaver generally performs the diagnostic procedure and communicates her findings and specialist recommendations to the Cross Creek veterinarian, who then discusses the results and next steps with the owner.
A direct consultation with Dr. Weaver can be arranged when appropriate. Owners who request a direct consultation with Dr. Weaver, including circumstances in which they wish to be present during an ultrasound or echocardiogram, should be advised that this is an additional service and an additional consultation fee applies.
What if my pet normally sees another veterinarian?
